OTTAWA/AUGLAIZE RIVER
APRIL 7-8-9 2017

We will be camping at the Ft Jennings Community park. We have the use of the shelter house (which has a fireplace) and the restrooms should be open by then, but if not, I (and others) have a chemical toilet and my house is only 5 minutes away!

Bring water for cooking and "comfort food" for Saturday night dinner. I've invited the curator of the local museum to give us some history of the area (pending) and invited park board members to Saturday night dinner (not sure if any takers) but we always have plenty of food!

Saturday's trip will be from road 19 bridge (Putnam Co.) to Oakwood Community Park (ODNR ramp) 13-15 miles. Shuttle 9:00AM to road 19 bridge is 15 minutes. I don't believe we've ever paddled on the Ottawa, (only a few miles will be paddled) but last trip on the Auglaize was May 2005.

Park officials ask us to leave the park as clean as we found it and a donation to the park board ( I suggest 15.00 a person) Sunday if anybody is interested, we could paddle a few miles on the Blanchard river, which is nearby. When was the last time YOU had a 3-way paddle? (3 rivers I mean) LIVE HARD, PADDLE HARD, EAT DOGS! Wil.
