We will paddle the Upper Olentangy River water level permitting. There is a massive logjam we can work on removing or opening a path through if everyone is game. I hope to have more information by the 13th on the status of it. If the month is dry the water level will be low and maybe not canoeable without some wading over low spots. There are a couple different trips we can do.

The log jam was evaluated on 8-12-17 and it was determined to be unclog-able. What we are going to do is create a portage around it. That will be a pretty easy job. Right now the water is really low so hoping for rain before then so we can paddle a little bit of the river. The potluck theme is going to be German or Oktoberfest. Bratwurst will be provided. I have to work all day that Friday as of now so may not be at the campground until 4 or 5. See everyone then.

We can camp at the Riverbend Campground at 1092 Whetstone River Road S Caledonia, OH 43314, 740-389-5371. It is actually just south of St Rt 95 in the crossroads of Claridon about 7 miles east of Marion. I have reserved 3 campsites at Riverbend Campground. They are all nonelectric primitive and in a nice area. Water is available but needs carried about a 100 yards. Bathrooms are the same distance. There are lots to do at the campground.

Camping for a non electric primitive site is $25.00 per site per night. I talked them into letting 4 adults on each site, maybe more. We were throwing around the idea of having the club pay for camping and kind of make this a summer outing trip. So everyone that can, come out and have fun.

This is a private campground with mostly permanent campers so it will be a very laid back and fun camping experience.

If the water is too low and the logjam too much to tackle, we can just play games and eat and eat and play games.

The potluck theme is going to be German or Oktoberfest. Bratwurst will be provided.
