Let's all start praying to the river gods for safe water levels for this week-end trip.

We'll be camping at "Pastime Park" campground (city park) 370 N Chillicothe St Plain City Ohio 43064. I'll be there Thursday afternoon. Camping fee's are 10.00 a night, per tent. We'll have water and electric near our group campsite. (bring a 100ft cord if needed) Restrooms and showers available near by. Firewood 5.00 bundle. Reserve your campsite BEFORE March 15th. (fee's go up after that) Contact Linda Granger (park director) at 614-873-3527 ext. 108. Tell her you are camping with OHCRA.

Friday's trip will be 8 miles. Price-Hilliard road bridge to Darby Dr. below US-40 bridge. Saturday's trip will be 15 miles. Burn's road bridge to Price- Hilliard bridge. Closer to the trip we'll see how many trailers we'll need.

Food Theme: It's probably still going to be chilly, so how about some warm soups and breads, of course, your choice if you have any other idea's (nothing is ever turned down)

In the area we'll have 7 covered bridges, many museums and public buildings to tour including the Plain City clock tower that has one of only two Seth Thomas clocks in the nation. I haven't looked yet, but I'm sure there are geocaches in the area too. Let's not forget that New Beers Eve is the night of April 6th. It celebrates the day before the anniversary beer began being sold legally again after prohibition(1920-1933) on March 23rd, 1933. After signing the bill into law, Roosevelt is reported to have said "I think this would be a good time for a beer". National Tartan Day is also on or around April 6th each year. So all you bonny lads break out your family colors and we'll have a "best looking legs under a kilt" contest! Remember, no running with bagpipes....you might get "kilt". Sorry, had to do that one. I hope the weather cooperates and we have a big turnout. Hope to see you on the river.

Wil
