The September trip will be on the Mahoning River near Newton Falls Ohio. We will be camping at sites 7,9 and 11 at the West Branch State Park campground in Ravenna, Ohio. Phone #330-296-3239. There is electric hook up and a bathhouse near our sites. The campground is on Michael J Kirwan Reservoir so there is paddling available at the campground.
There are choices of trips for both Friday and Saturday depending on the interest. We could do a trip over 9 miles from Foster MetroPark (which was formed from a donation from the Trumbull Canoe Trails Club) to Braceville Nature Center. This trip includes 1 portage around a dam at Rotary Park. This is a common paddling area so should be cleared and includes going under the second oldest covered bridge in Ohio. There are also longer trips available which I will look into especially if anyone wants to also paddle on Friday.
Theme for the potluck will be "Grandma's Kitchen" so bring a favorite dish from your childhood.
