Stillwater River
March 15, 16, 17, 2019

We hope to paddle the Stillwater from Covington down to the Englewood Dam area around Dayton. March weather has a lot of variety so one never knows what to expect.

ALL PADDLERS ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE EXTRA DRY CLOHES IN A DRY BAG WHILE PADDLING. BE PREPARED FOR CAPSIZE.

Thursday evening March 14th we will camp at the Covington Community Park, 140 W Broadway St, Covington, OH 45318. We have rented their enclosed shelter at $60.00 for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. At that time the restrooms will not be open so it would be everyones responsibility to bring their own bucket or hightail into the woods. Water also is not available so please bring your own. There will be electric so an electric heater may feel very comfortable if anyone wants to bring one.

Friday we can paddle down river to where the Greenville Creek merges and paddle 2 miles upstream to see the beautiful Greenville Falls. You usually see them from the top not the base so it sounds like an exciting photo opportunity. Another 4 or so miles down the Stillwater and we can exit for the day at St Rt 718. That should be around 8 miles for the day. We can again camp at Covington Park for Friday evening.

Saturday the paddle can start at St Rt 718 and go to Garland Road Bridge which is close to 12 miles.

Sunday we can paddle from the Garland Road Bridge on to the Englewood Dam area for a total of 5-6 miles. Vehicles can be shuttled there.

Potluck theme can be, anything that keeps us warm.

Tony
